An Article about One of my Childhood Memories.
by Juana González.
In your childhood, your first bicycle is always associated with your first fall. But, after these falls, you stand up again. This fact is a very useful lesson for all your life, isn´t it?
I have always loved horses. Therefore, when my father gave me my first bicycle as a gift which was shaped like a little horse with wheels..... I couldn´t believe it! My first exciting experiences were guaranteed, but, on the other hand, risk as well.
However, in those days I assumed with pleasure risky activities, especially related to my horse-bike.
I spent all my afternoons on my bicycle from place to place driving as fast as I could.
As a consequence, one of those afternoons my first fall happened. Moreover, my head was the first part of my body which crashed to the ground.
Immediately after my accident, I vaguely remember I felt a mix of feelings: surprise, fear, shock...
However, I stood up so quickly but a little bit frightened because a huge and painful bulge was growing on my forehead. Next day, apart from the reprimand of my mother and the pain on my forehead, I rode on my bicycle again.
To sum up, don´t you consider that this this experience from your childhood keeps repeating in a metaphorical way all along your lives? In other words, bicycles as your lives and falls as problems. To conclude, let me tell you about a Chinese proverb: “if you fall seven times, stand up eight”
